Russia - Sergey Dankvert: More than 80% of pet food does not correspond to the declared composition

Russia (bbabo.net), - Of 450 samples of pet food that Rosselkhoznadzor checked, 380 do not correspond to the declared composition, said the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert in an interview.

So, according to him, in some canned food with the addition of rabbit meat, rabbit DNA was absent.

In other popular canned foods, which are sold in almost every store, several types of meat were declared, but there was no meat at all - there were only plant ingredients in the feed, soy and corn.

Some Spanish canned food was labeled with meat and bone meal. But the inspectors of the Rosselkhoznadzor during the inspection of the enterprise found out that it was poultry feather meal.

“We imposed restrictions on a certain list of countries not just because of our whim, but because the veterinary services seriously reduced the level of control over their exporters, which resulted in the shipment of feed of dubious quality and safety level to Russia,” explained the head Rosselkhoznadzor.
