Putin wants to stop using electricity from Ukraine by summer

Russian President, Vladimir Putin, said that in preparation for the summer season in Crimea it is necessary to completely replace the electric power supplied from Ukraine.

He stated this during the launch of the first line of an energy bridge to the peninsula, writes "Interfax".

Putin hopes that until December 15 the second line of the energy bridge to the Crimea will start its work, which will provide an island with 400 MW of energy.

"In general, the first link has to work steadily. I hope that, as agreed, and perhaps before, not until December 20, a little bit earlier, at least until December 15, the second link will be launched, and it will give 400 MW of energy," - Putin said.

However, the president admitted the possibility of failures in the power bridge and stated that the inhabitants of the peninsula have to be warned.
