They clarified that now another military transport Il-76 with 145 Russians on board is preparing for departure at the Alma-Ata airport. They will be delivered to the Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow. At the same time, the Russian Embassy in Kazakhstan said that depending on weather conditions, it is possible to use other military airfields on Russian territory for landing.
The embassy asked everyone who wants to fly from Kazakhstan to make a transfer to the Almaty airport on their own, do not forget their valid passports, and also pack their personal belongings, based on the strict restriction "one passenger - one piece of hand luggage." This limitation is due to the fact that due to extraordinary circumstances, baggage loading services are not provided by the airport services. "When making a decision, please also proceed from the fact that military transport aircraft are not equipped to provide the usual level of passenger comfort for civil aviation, including toilets," the embassy warned.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense informed that over the past few days, military transport aircraft have transported 1,719 people from Kazakhstan to the territory of Russia, including citizens of other states. Last Monday alone, 258 people flew from Alma-Ata to the Chkalovsky airfield, 11 of them are foreigners. "At the request of the embassies of Austria and Hungary, two diplomats with their families were brought to Moscow by a plane from the Russian Defense Ministry," our military officials said.
