Evidence of crimes in the Donbas is handed over to the Hague tribunal

On October 23 the organization "International Partnership for Human Rights" passed the materials for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine to the Hague tribunal, according to the website of the organization. Project coordinator and lawyer, Simon Papuashvili, said that in general there were conducted 32 missions and collected more than 300 certificates.

They collected supporting information, additional details, and information about the alleged offender for each episode. According to Papuashvili, although the crimes are documented on both sides of the conflict, most of them are committed by militants.

Field Mission Coordinator, Svetlana Valko, said that the evidence is classified by geography and divided into five major categories of crimes: torture, killings, shelling, deprivation of property and the maintenance of prisoners of war.

According to her, the mission expects are going to gather more evidence about the crimes of the Ukrainian side, when victims will be less afraid to talk about their experiences.
