Belgium will no longer prioritize covid cases in hospitals

The growing incidence of coronavirus is forcing the Belgian authorities to reconsider approaches to hospitalizing patients. If the omicron option continues to put increasing pressure on the country's medical system, COVID-19 patients will no longer have priority for hospital referrals over regular patients.

There are now more than two thousand coronavirus patients in hospitals across the country, and exactly half of the intensive care beds are reserved for them. Because of this, other patients often cannot receive the timely assistance they need.

In accordance with the new plan of the Belgian Ministry of Health, hospitals will no longer allocate special beds for coronavirus patients, and they will be served on a first come, first served basis.

"We want to help as many patients as possible," the sanitary authorities emphasize. ..
