Peskov said that Russia does not intend to threaten NATO over Ukraine

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow does not threaten NATO with ultimatums in response to statements of adherence to the "open door" principle.

Thus, he answered the question of journalists whether the Russian side intends to take any steps.

“Continuing NATO's open door policy, further advancing NATO towards our borders - this is exactly what, from our point of view and, in our conviction, threatens us. This is exactly what we are asking for legally binding guarantees about not continuing, ”a Kremlin spokesman said, suggesting to wait until the end of negotiations with the NATO delegation in Brussels.

At the same time, he stressed that Russia is open to dialogue, and wants, first of all, to conduct negotiations, despite the tough situation.

On January 12, negotiations are underway in Brussels with the participation of Russia and NATO.

Peskov also commented on the possible entry of Finland and Sweden into NATO.
