Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - South Korean presidential candidate Ho Yong-kyung announced an ambitious task - if he is elected, to achieve Russia's right to lease the territory of the Far East, TASS reports.
According to him, this will activate the development of Northeast Asia.
The leader of the "Party of Revolutionary Dividends" also drew attention to the large number of the Korean community in such cities as Amur, Kamchatka, Sakhalin, Magadan, Chukotka.
He added that the leased areas would serve as "a belt of economic development in the Busan-Vladivostok direction."
Developing his idea, the politician proposed to develop agriculture there, growing grains and legumes. Here, according to him, it would be possible to build a nuclear power plant that would supply energy to the Korean Peninsula.
Ho Yong Kyung believes that Russia should be interested in such a proposal in terms of profit and economic benefits.
