The Pentagon believes that Russia has not yet decided to invade Ukraine

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that the Russian authorities, most likely, have not yet made a final decision on the invasion of Ukraine. He announced this at a briefing, TASS reports.

“We are not sure that President Putin has made a final decision, so I will refrain from speculating about what we will or will not do in the event of an invasion,” he said.

Earlier, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said during a briefing that the United States has evidence that Russia is preparing "provocations" in Ukraine.

A similar statement was made by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby during a briefing at the US Department of Defense. According to him, the United States has evidence that Russia is allegedly preparing a pretext for an invasion of Ukraine. According to him, we are talking about "a group of operatives who are preparing to conduct an operation under a false flag."

Prior to this, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the latest publications about the allegedly impending Russian provocation in the Donbass are unfounded.

The CNN television company, citing a representative of the US administration, wrote the day before that Russia had prepared a task force to conduct a “false flag” operation in eastern Ukraine.
