Poroshenko flew from Warsaw to Kiev for trial in the case of treason

Ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko flew from Warsaw to Kiev, where he is waiting for a court hearing on the choice of a measure of restraint in the case of treason. According to TASS, the plane of the low-cost airline Wizz Air with the Poroshenko couple on board took off 20 minutes later than planned.

As Poroshenko himself told RIA Novosti, he is not afraid of arrest and is already planning new trips after the court session.

Recall that on December 17, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), with the sanction of prosecutors, tried to hand Poroshenko a summons for interrogation, but he actually fled from them and ended up abroad a few hours later. As local journalists found out, he bought a ticket to Istanbul just a few minutes after talking with investigators. However, Poroshenko soon promised to return to Ukraine in January. And his lawyers summoned incumbent President Volodymyr Zelensky to court to make public the full recordings of the so-called Medvedchuk tapes, on the basis of which Zelensky accused Poroshenko of treason.

The State Bureau of Investigation expects that Poroshenko will voluntarily appear for interrogation. Otherwise, he will be delivered forcibly, the Pechersky District Court of Kiev gave the go-ahead for this.
