Muslim organization appeals to US government

The largest Muslim human rights organization in the United States called on the US government to investigate an organization convicted of illegal surveillance of the life of the Muslim community.

Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) director Nihad Awad called on the FBI and other government agencies to initiate an investigation into the Terrorism Research Project, which is considered one of the mouthpieces of Islamophobia in the United States and has pro-Israel views.

It was recently revealed that the "project" paid large sums to a high-ranking employee of a Muslim human rights organization for disclosing inside information about its activities.

“I would like to take this opportunity to call on the DOJ, the FBI and the Treasury to investigate and hold Stephen Emerson and his Terrorism Research Project accountable,” Awad said, quoted by bbabo.net citing on Al Jazeera.

“Why is he allowed to spy for the State of Israel? You can't spy on American Muslims, legal organizations."
