President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock discussed the situation around Ukraine and expressed hope that a summit in the Normandy format would soon be organized, the press service of the office of the Ukrainian head of state reported.

“Noting the unity of approaches to the peace process, in particular, the cluster approach to the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the parties expressed their hope that soon the organization of the next summit in the Normandy format would be possible,” the message says.

The parties also discussed issues related to strengthening the security of Ukraine. Zelensky noted that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is a "geopolitical project and weapon" that is directed "against Ukraine and all of Europe."

Earlier, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the topic of the trilateral summit of the Russian Federation - the United States - Ukraine from Washington, which Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky had previously proposed to hold, should be clarified.
