Moldova - Năstase: Because of the incompetence of the authorities, we pay more for gas

Moldova (bbabo.net), - Andrei Năstase accuses the authorities of incompetence and failure to fulfill election promises. Speaking on the Prime Time program on the PRIME TV channel, one of the founders of the DA Platform called the refusal to discuss the contract with Gazprom at the level of prime minister or president one of major errors, publika.md reports

The politician also believes that there are not enough highly qualified experts in the country's leadership team, and they refuse outside help. Năstase does not see big changes with the coming to power of the PDS.

“Maybe they steal less from us? If they don’t talk about it on TV, it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. Has there been less corruption? I doubt it remains the same as before. Incompetence can lead people to the streets. As a result, we pay higher gas prices, there are no longer enough pension supplements," Năstase said.

At the same time, Năstase avoided a direct answer to the question of whether the DA Platform plans to organize mass protests.

The politician urged the authorities not to repeat the mistakes made in the issue of the country's energy security.

"Negotiations with Gazprom harmed Moldova. In these negotiations, the country was represented at the lowest level. Given the circumstances and specifics, at least the prime minister, if not the president, should have participated," the politician said.

Năstase still hopes that the authorities will accept the offer of cooperation.

“When this government was formed, declared as pro-European, reformist, democratic, the DA Platform declared its support. But there was no reaction.

Let's see if our proposal is accepted or not," he said.

Asked to comment on Năstase's remarks, Aurica Jardan, spokeswoman for the Action and Solidarity Party, stressed that the government's only priority is to improve the standard of living of citizens.
