The Canadian Department of Defense, fearing an aggravation of the Ukrainian crisis, sent a detachment of special forces to Ukraine. This is reported by the Global News channel.

According to the channel, the military will develop a plan for the evacuation of Canadian diplomats. The sending of special forces was not confirmed either by the Canadian Ministry of Defense or by the Canadian government.

The Russian TASS agency also sent a request to the defense department, but the answer has not yet come.

Earlier, the Canadian Foreign Ministry recommended that citizens not visit Ukraine and some Russian regions due to "Russian aggression." In addition, calls by the ministry to avoid travel to Crimea, including transit flights through the airports of Sevastopol and Simferopol, continue.

Prior to this, Canada refused to increase the military contingent in Ukraine.
