The court of Kiev released Poroshenko under a personal obligation in the case of treason

The Pechersky District Court of Kiev issued a decision on a measure of restraint for the former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in the case of treason. He was released under a personal obligation to appear in court and law enforcement agencies upon first demand, as well as to hand over his passports.

As noted by the publication "Strana", this is the easiest preventive measure of all possible. The head of the political council of the Ukrainian party "Opposition Platform - For Life" Viktor Medvedchuk was placed under house arrest in the same case.

Recall that Poroshenko is accused of "financing terrorism" and treason, as well as creating a "terrorist organization." According to the investigation, while Poroshenko was in power, a corruption scheme was created for procurement in the Donbass.

During Monday's court hearing, the prosecutor demanded that he be arrested for two months with bail of one billion hryvnia ($35.7 million). However, then the court could not make a decision, the judge became ill, and he was called an ambulance. A new meeting was scheduled for Wednesday.
