Russia (bbabo.net), - The CPRF faction led by leader Gennady Zyuganov submitted to the State Duma a draft resolution recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed republics of southeastern Ukraine.
In this document, the Communists propose that the State Duma officially appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to consider this issue.
In addition, the Communist Party considers it expedient to urgently hold talks with the leadership of the republics in order to create a legal basis for their relations with Russia.
As an argument, the deputies pointed out that democratic bodies with all the attributes of legitimate power have already been built in the republics.
If adopted by the State Duma, according to the draft, the document is proposed to be sent to the president and published.
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation considers such a step morally justified and necessary for regional stability. The authors cited UN data that more than 10,000 residents of the LPR and DPR had already died during the conflict, and more than 50,000 were injured.
By submitting this draft to the Duma, the Communists are fulfilling the election program, where there was such a clause.
Meanwhile, such documents must first be considered by the Duma committees on international affairs and CIS affairs, but their position is not presented, the legal department of the State Duma noted.
The Kremlin has not yet seen the draft appeal of the deputies. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.
