Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - The Russian leadership welcomed the proposal of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to make his country a platform for negotiations between his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky.

As the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov noted, Moscow supports the efforts of all states towards a Ukrainian settlement.

According to him, Moscow and Kiev diverge mainly because of the slippage in the implementation of the Minsk agreements by Kiev.

He added that the Kremlin welcomes Ankara's efforts, which are capable of encouraging the Ukrainian side to fulfill its obligations.

Earlier it became known that Erdogan invited Putin and Zelensky to Turkey for talks to resolve existing differences.
