Zakharova accused the West of creating information noise for military provocations

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said at a briefing that the West is hiding behind the threat of a Russian "invasion" of Ukraine and is preparing its own provocations, including military ones. She added that Moscow's fears are confirmed, among other things, by the UK sending weapons to Kiev - hundreds of tons of weapons. In addition, Zakharova shed a tear when she called foreign diplomats to visit the museum of breaking the siege of Leningrad. Statements by Western media and politicians about Moscow's alleged preparation of a "military invasion" of Ukraine are nothing more than informational noise to cover up their own provocations. This was reported by TASS with reference to the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“We are convinced that the purpose of this campaign is to create an information cover for preparing their own large-scale provocations, including military ones, which can have the most tragic consequences for regional and global security,” she said.

Zakharova added that the West is confirming Moscow's fears with its real actions. In particular, British Air Force planes have recently started sending tons of weapons to Kiev.

“For several days now, Britain has been sending weapons to Ukraine by military transport aircraft of its Air Force. At least six flights were organized, each aircraft can take on board up to 77.5 tons of cargo, that is, in total, about 460 tons of weapons, ”said the representative of the Foreign Ministry.

According to her, anti-tank guided missiles come across among these weapons, and Western military instructors train soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to fight in an urban environment.

Canada has sent more than 200 special forces to Ukraine, ostensibly to guard the embassy and evacuate Canadian diplomats in an emergency. Military assistance from the United States turned out to be the largest, Zakharova added. “In recent months alone, Washington has supplied Ukraine with 30 Javelin anti-tank missile systems and 180 missiles for them,” she said.

At the same time, several batches of weapons worth about $20 million are expected to be shipped from the United States in January.

“In Ukraine, such assistance is perceived as carte blanche to conduct a military operation in the Donbass,” she stressed.

Zakharova called on Western countries to stop the aggressive anti-Russian information campaign, as well as to stop the militarization of Ukraine and the pulling of Kiev into NATO.

“Instead, [we call] to direct efforts to encourage the Kiev regime to comply with the Minsk agreements and other international obligations,” she said.

Zakharova also criticized the "growing rampant neo-Nazism" in Ukraine.

“Unfortunately, the growth of neo-Nazi sentiment in Ukraine does not worry either our Western partners or relevant international organizations,” she said, recalling the recent renaming of the tram station named after. General Vatutin in honor of the leader of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (the organization is banned in Russia) (UPA) Roman Shukhevych.

At the end of the briefing, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs could not contain her emotions and burst into tears when she recommended that foreign tourists and diplomats visit the Breaking Siege of Leningrad museum-reserve.

“We, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recommend this museum and, of course, the memorial at the Piskarevskoye cemetery and many other historical monuments and objects for visiting all guests of our country. And, of course, to fellow diplomats, there are quite a few consulates of foreign states in St. Petersburg,” she said.

According to Zakharova, when “the rewriting of a great feat” is underway, one has to talk about “everything known facts.”

It should be noted that the Proryv panorama museum, mentioned by the representative of the Foreign Ministry, was opened in 2018 by President Vladimir Putin. There, according to RIA Novosti, a picture of the dramatic events of January 13, 1943, the second day of Operation Iskra to break the blockade, is presented. In St. Petersburg, in Solyany Lane, there is also another museum - the State Memorial Museum of the Defense and Siege of Leningrad, opened in 1946, closed in 1952 and revived in 1989.
