Russia (bbabo.net) - Late on January 20, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Geneva for a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

Earlier it was reported that the heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries will discuss further steps in connection with the proposals submitted by Moscow on security guarantees.

Blinken said that Washington had not prepared a written response to Russia's proposals. According to him, the United States does not have a clear understanding of what Moscow's demands are key. And some clauses of security guarantees are unacceptable to the US, the US Secretary of State added.

Recall that Moscow needs guarantees of non-expansion of NATO to the east and accession to the North Atlantic Alliance of Ukraine, as well as other countries of the former USSR. Russia also proposes to enshrine in the treaty the principle of the impossibility of unleashing a nuclear war.
