Groups for interaction with the parliaments of Ukraine, Great Britain, the USA and the Baltic countries have been recreated in the State Duma. This was announced by MP Yevgeny Popov, who headed the first of them, in his Telegram channel.

The parliamentarian stressed that the lower house of parliament had formed deputy groups for relations with foreign parliaments, but in a number of cases the term “friendship group” had to be abandoned. Popov stressed that, at his suggestion, the groups for interaction with the UK, the USA, the Baltic states and Ukraine were returned.

“In these countries with hostile authorities, there are people with whom we can and should talk. I am the coordinator of the group for relations with Ukraine. (...) I am preparing letters to Ukrainian friends and partners. We are starting to build relationships anew, ”Popov said.

The members of the deputy groups for relations with each country are published on the Duma's website. Thus, the section on relations with Ukraine includes, for example, LDPR politicians Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Alexei Didenko, who have been banned from entering this country since 2015.

Earlier, I conveyed the words of State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin about upcoming consultations with the heads of parliamentary factions on the draft appeal submitted by deputies to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the recognition of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics.
