The State Duma commented on the statements of the former head of the German Navy

Deputy of the State Duma from the Republic of Crimea Mikhail Sheremet commented on the statement of the recently dismissed head of the German naval forces, Vice Admiral Kai-Ahim Schoenbach, RIA Novosti reports.

“Finally, sanity woke up after so long after the referendum in 2014. Although a belated insight, it is a signal to the entire Western world that it is time to stop political games and recognize the Russian status of Crimea. Crimea is a legal and inalienable part of the Russian land,” Sheremet said.

Sheremet called the recognition of Crimea Russian by Western countries a matter of time.

“But that's not what matters. The important thing is that the Crimeans consider themselves citizens of Russia and that Russia considers Crimea to be its integral part. Crimea has always been, is and will be Russian. And let those who are trying to use Crimea to impose sanctions and put pressure on Russia will kill it on their noses,” Sheremet concluded.

Earlier, the political scientist appreciated the words of the commander of the German Navy, Vice Admiral Kai-Achim Schönbach about the Crimea.

In March 2014, a referendum was held in Crimea, as a result of which the peninsula became a territorial part of Russia, and Sevastopol became a city of federal significance.
