The United States, Britain, Australia and Germany are planning to evacuate family members of diplomats and embassy workers from Ukraine. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

In particular, the US State Department authorized the voluntary departure of US employees and ordered the departure of relevant family members from the embassy in Kiev.

At the same time, Switzerland, Finland and Poland have stated that they do not yet plan to evacuate employees of their diplomatic missions from Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that the EU countries, when discussing the situation around Ukraine, expressed their readiness, if necessary, to adopt a set of sanctions against Russia.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said following the meeting of the EU Council in Brussels that the meeting repaired "a high degree of agreement between the Europeans and the United States."

Prior to this, it was reported that the European Union is preparing "tougher" sanctions against Russia because of the Crimea. According to a report from the German embassy in Brussels, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania and Denmark called for "new punitive measures" during a working group meeting with EU representatives. They would like to include five more individuals or entities on the EU sanctions list.
