Yakov Kedmi on Moldova in the situation of escalating tension in the region:

Moldova (bbabo.net), - Yakov Kedmi is an expert who needs no introduction and deserves a standing ovation. His accurate estimates, come true predictions and sharp tongue attract a huge audience. At the meeting of Moldovan journalists with Yakov Iosifovich, there was also a Komsomolskaya Pravda correspondent. The expert gave answers to the most pressing questions regarding the current situation, the growing tension in the Security Zone on the Dniester, about the negotiations between Russia and NATO, and why Ukraine is waiting for an invasion from the east.

ON SANDU'S STATEMENT ON THE BLOODY EVENTS OF 1992

“If she wants to compete in the field of political illiteracy with the British minister, please. Now, if European integration means complete ignorance and misunderstanding of history, a distortion of well-known unambiguous historical facts, maybe this is her desire? There is nothing reasonable in this.

Because I also know about the conflict that started then, and about the war. And my people were there. And on both sides. We were engaged in the removal of the Jewish population from the conflict zone. But that's another matter. The conflict started precisely because of people like Sandu. Because of the call to turn Moldova into a part of Romania. Because of the resistance of the non-Moldovan - Russian, Ukrainian population - mainly Transnistria, attempts to annex them to Romania.

The conflict began when the Moldavian army moved to Bendery. Not troops from Transnistria, not people from Transnistria went to Chisinau, but it was from Chisinau that the armed forces of independent Moldova moved to Balti and Transnistria. To their misfortune, Russian military units were stationed there and there was a specific commander who gave the order - either you stop, or I will move my tanks to Chisinau. And that's it. That is, it was not Russia that gave rise to this conflict, but the pro-Romanian forces, who wanted to turn it into a Romanian province instead of an independent Moldova. Openly, impudently, contrary to the wishes of the population of Moldova.

So everything she says is a blatant lie, a falsification of facts, and if she does not know them, then this is illiteracy and ignorance. If she knows, it's even worse."

ABOUT THE REPETITION OF MILITARY ACTIONS ON THE DNISTER

“If power is completely lost and if the same thing happens as in Ukraine – walk-a-field, then armed groups from both sides can take power into their own hands. Power is always better than powerlessness. Who could have thought yesterday that the peaceful people of the Kazakhs would arrange in their country what they arranged? Monarchy, impunity, lawlessness. The absence of all moral standards can lead any nation to this. Buddhism is a peaceful religion - and what did they do in Burma with the Bengalis, with the Muslims, slaughtering entire villages, killing women and children? Buddhists. So it's all conditional. Everyone is capable of it. And what was in Nazi Germany - there is no people who are not capable of such atrocities as the Germans under Nazi rule. Install Nazi power, and everyone will be like that, not just the Germans. Both the Americans and the British. Peaceful Dutch. The bullying of the Dutch against the population of Indonesia surpassed the bullying of the Japanese against the Chinese - in its cruelty, in its sophistication. Peaceful Dutch. And what were they doing in Suriname, in Indonesia? What did the French do in Algeria? And what did the Belgians do in the Congo? So any nation can be brought to a bestial state.

And the territory of peaceful Moldova, which has never fought with anyone, if it is not attacked ... can also be brought to such a state.”

ON THE ROLE OF MOLDOVA

“The United States is not up to Moldova. Today they are more concerned about Romania, Poland and the desire to maintain their bases in Romania and Poland. Moldova is considered in the future, can be considered as one of the elements of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, to which it is desirable to extend the influence of the West and Europe even more, if possible, to the level of Ukrainian. That was earlier. Today in the United States hardly anyone takes Moldova seriously. More influenced by Romania and because of their relationship with Romania."

ON THE WITHDRAWAL OF AMERICAN BASES FROM ROMANIA

“What is happening now is a critical point in the development of the whole world, Europe, especially Russia, but also the United States. Russia will achieve the withdrawal of American bases from Eastern Europe. It will achieve this because, in taking this step, it is building on its ever-increasing advantage in the area of strategic nuclear weapons, which are of great concern to the United States and present the United States with the problem that it is not in a position to fight Russia today. Russia threatens precisely with actions, as they call it, of a military-technical nature. The Americans have nothing to oppose to these actions. Because they are not ready for a military conflict with Russia. And Russia is ready. Therefore, because of their weakness, they will have to retreat. In order not to suffer a military defeat and suffer huge losses that could break the back of the United States. They know this very well.Russia is using the advantage it has received. The Americans are faced with a choice - are you ready for your soldiers to die for bases in Romania? Explain this to the mothers of these soldiers. Are you ready to start a nuclear war in order to keep your bases in the Baltics? You are welcome. Americans are not ready. The only thing they are trying now, not yet fully understanding and yielding to political pressure, is to bargain for something smaller. Or maybe Russia will be satisfied only partially? They don't understand, they're wrong.

Russia will achieve the return of NATO to the 1967 borders.”

ABOUT THE FUTURE OF MOLDOVA

Everything that the current Secretary General of NATO says, no one pays attention to it, even in NATO. Both in his country and in Europe. Everything he says is not worth a damn. And Russia does not stand for the independence of Moldova and for the unity of states? The same. Has Russia ever threatened Moldova or demanded something? No. Only considering the rights of the other three groups of the population. The population of Transnistria, and it is Russian, Ukrainian and partly Moldovan, and the Gagauz.

The three main population groups in Moldova - Moldovans, Gagauz and the Russian-Ukrainian-Moldovan population of Transnistria - are the population of one country. Russia has never demanded either the dismemberment of Moldova or the separation of Moldova. And she brought in troops to protect the population. And not in order to demand the separation of Transnistria from Moldova. And now in Russia they do not declare. That is, all for a single Moldovan state. No one, except Sandu and Romania, is for Moldova as part of Romania. Austria is a German state, they speak German there, it is a German culture. But it's not part of Germany. So the fact that in the country the people speak the same language with another country ... the Austrians are the same Germans. The fact that they are Catholics, so in Bavaria are also Catholics. But this is an independent state. So having a common language or a common culture does not mean a requirement that the state become part of another. Therefore, if only the majority of the population of a united Moldova does not want to join Romania. But then the question will be raised quite rightly - that that part of the population of Moldova, territorially designated, which does not want to join Romania, has the right to secede.

If the Gagauz and Transnistria do not want to go to Romania together with the other part of Moldova, then they will have to separate. According to all international and moral laws. Why should they be part of another state with which they have nothing in common? If the Moldovans, most of Moldova, believe that they are part of the Romanian people, then please. Moldovans in Romania have always been second-class people. Moldovans have never been second-class citizens either in Russia or in the Soviet Union. But they were in Romania. If they want it, please.

The same in Ukraine. Ukrainians and Belarusians in Poland were cattle. But there are those who want. So the future of Moldova is either within the framework of a single independent state, or within the framework of a part of the state within the framework of Romania. I don't see another. And no one else wants. Again, except for Mrs. Sandu and others like her. Well, the Romanian authorities. But Romania, I think that… I would advise them to think less about Moldova and more about Temeshuara. No matter how Temeshuara returns to where she came from in Romania. This is what Romanians should be more interested in, not Moldova.

ABOUT WILL THERE BE A WAR IN MOLDOVA?

It depends on the prudence of the NATO countries and the United States. Russia has already said. I just listen to what they say and try to understand. She is ready to use military methods as well, since she considers this situation intolerable for herself. Everything. What military methods, I do not know. What kind of threats, I don't know. Maybe Putin talked to Maduro, just asked about the weather in Venezuela? Or maybe not. But when it comes to Russia and when it comes to a president like Putin, I would always be interested in what he doesn't talk about and who he doesn't talk to. But he does not talk to the President of Nicaragua. Or not advertised.
