Russia - Warming station for homeless people opened in Ufa

Russia (bbabo.net), - Here they don't ask how you got to such a life, they are not interested in material wealth and status. A friendly offer of tea, sweets, sandwiches and a seat at the table. Hospitality and respect are the main rules in this "house". We are talking about a recently opened heating point for people without a fixed place of residence and the poor. The initiators of the warm space in Ufa were a local resident Alexander Stovbchaty together with his friends. In one of the hangars, they placed a military warm tent, which they ordered in Chita, fully equipped and furnished it: inside there are tables, chairs, beds, a stove, a carpet on the floor, there is electricity and even ... a TV!

“If it weren’t for the support of the head of the republic, Radiy Khabirov, and the Minister of Labour, Family and Social Protection, Lenara Ivanova, nothing would have happened,” Alexander said. “Thanks to their participation, we can not only provide shelter and food to people who have applied, but also provide support in finding employment, restoring documents, as well as helping them get medical care and try to find relatives. When last year at the round table they told how many people froze on the street, I could not stand aside and decided to launch a social project.

To begin with, Alexander went to St. Petersburg to look at the experience of organizing such points. Then he applied for the same to other regions. Finally, he decided to open his temporary shelter for the disadvantaged.

- In the future, we plan to develop an extensive rehabilitation program. I once also ended up on the street, sank to the bottom due to addiction, but I was able to get out of it. Therefore, I can understand them much faster, and, accordingly, find a beacon, motivation that will help me return to normal life. Everything is possible, the main thing is an individual approach to a person.

The heating point is not empty for a minute: the needy, and of various ages, constantly stay here. Behind them is tragedy and pain. And if some come only for a bowl of hot soup, others stay here to live. One of these regulars is the elderly Konstantin Evdokhin, who is affectionately called Batya. He keeps order and ensures that the tent is always warm and boiling water. By the way, he has both documents and a house. However, in the family, according to him, he is not a welcome guest: the daughter-in-law is against him. In order not to upset his beloved granddaughters who were watching the conflicts, Batya went to work as a watchman in the garden. But due to health reasons, he was unable to work. Then the man went to "live" at the station.

“I haven’t been drinking alcohol since 2015, I quit after the death of my eldest son,” says Konstantin. - Now I need a heart operation, but it is expensive. I don't have that kind of money.

Valery is sitting next to Batya. By the way, a well-groomed, neat man. And do not think that he may experience difficulties with housing. In 2018, his house burned down, and there was no money to build a new one. There was no one nearby to help or suggest where to turn. All his life Valera worked as a driver, he began to lose his sight, the doctors revealed a cataract, he had to quit.

- I haven't been working for six months. I really want to work, but who needs me? He worked as a janitor, but tore off his back, he had to leave, - the man complains. - I'm lost. I am 60 years old. I'm joking: they don't hire you because you're old, but they don't give you a pension because you're young. That's how I exist.

Alexander helps to solve such questions together with like-minded people.

If you are ready to provide any assistance to the heating point, they will only be happy here.
