The Ukrainian State Border Guard Service introduced temporary restrictions on border-crossing procedures for Ukrainian citizens on the eastern border, told Thursday the department head’s assistant Oleh Slobodian.
According to him, such measures will be taken to prevent provocations aimed at civil citizens, as well as to minimize the risk of penetration of militants, terrorists and arms supplies to Ukraine. This is a set of measures, which include the increase of border troops units at crossing points and more detailed customs examinations. The employees of the Interior Affairs Ministry and State Security Service will be on permanent duty at checkpoints within an entire period.

The spokesman said that the restrictions started on April 27 and would last through May holidays.
