The British army is going to strengthen the contingent in Europe

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has instructed the country's defense minister to double the British military contingent in Estonia and transfer additional military equipment to Europe, Reuters reports citing the press service of the British prime minister.

In addition, Johnson's office said they were preparing a draft discussion of military measures with NATO representatives in Brussels.

“This package will send a clear message to the Kremlin that we will not tolerate destabilizing activity and will always stand with our NATO allies in the face of Russian hostile activity. I have instructed to prepare for the transfer of personnel and equipment to Europe next week, so that we are able to support our NATO allies on land, at sea and in the air,” Johnson said.

There are currently 900 British troops stationed in Estonia. In addition, 150 people are in Poland and up to 100 people as so-called "instructors" in Ukraine.

Earlier, Hungary opposed the deployment of additional foreign NATO forces on its territory.
