Zarema Musaeva became a defendant in a criminal case

Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - Zarema Musaeva, the wife of ex-judge Saydi Yangulbaev, brought to Chechnya from Nizhny Novgorod, has become a defendant in a criminal case, the Baza Telegram channel reports.

Musayeva is charged with health-threatening violence against a police officer. If convicted, she could face up to 10 years in prison.

According to law enforcement officers, during the arrest, the woman scratched the face of the law enforcement officer.

She was brought to Grozny for interrogation as part of the case of fraud with loans issued in household appliances stores three years ago. Subsequently, the detainee refused the services of a lawyer and participation in legal proceedings, citing existing diseases, including diabetes.

In the meantime, a criminal case has also been initiated against the son of Saydi Yangulbaev, Ibragim. He is charged with a terrorist attack.

Earlier, the US State Department stood up for Musaeva, calling for the release of her and other "arbitrarily detained" persons. Grozny announced the far-fetched nature of the accusations from the US administration, accusing her of "atrocities" inside and outside the country, including the murder of George Floyd and millions of people, killed in the "American 'Democratic' bombing".
