Orban: Anti-Russian sanctions were more harmful for Hungary than for Russia

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, following talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that "the policy of sanctions introduced against Russia has done Hungary much more harm than the Russian Federation.

"Sanctions are a means obviously doomed to failure. I do not consider it acceptable either in relation to Russia or in relation to other states," TASS quoted Orban as saying.

Orban said that 2021 has become the most fruitful year in terms of cooperation between Budapest and Moscow, and the Russian economy is much stronger than is commonly thought in the West.

In addition, the Hungarian prime minister thanked Russia for providing the Sputnik V vaccine, which was received by 900,000 people.
