British Prime Minister Boris Johnson arrived in Kiev to discuss security issues and military-technical cooperation. It is reported by TASS.

The British prime minister is expected to hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba. The main topics of the meetings will be security issues, the search for ways to de-escalate, as well as military-technical cooperation.

It was planned that during the visit a new format of cooperation between Ukraine, Britain and Poland would be announced. However, the presentation had to be postponed because British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss contracted the coronavirus and did not arrive in Kiev.

Ahead of the visit, Johnson expressed "deep concern at the lack of signs of de-escalation" and also said that London "is leading efforts to agree on a Western package of sanctions against Moscow in the event of a supposedly possible Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory."
