Putin and Macron agreed to call after the trip of the President of France to Kiev

Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a press conference following talks with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, said that they had agreed to phone after the French leader's trip to Kiev. TASS writes about it.

"Let's see how the meeting of Mr. President in Kiev goes," Putin commented on the plans. He specified that after Macron's trip to Ukraine, they "exchange views on this matter."

Macron to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine named the purpose of the meeting. The Ukrainian authorities will discuss with the President of France during his visit to Kiev on February 8 the supply of weapons, said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.

At a press conference, Putin also called it incomprehensible on what grounds they are trying to present the movement of troops on Russian territory as a threat to neighboring countries.

In recent months, statements have been made in the West and Ukraine in particular about Russia's allegedly impending "invasion" of Ukraine. In turn, the Kremlin has more than once directly denied any plans for an attack.

The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, said that he did not see "momentary" military threats from Russia. According to him, "sooner or later" the alleged invasion of Ukraine may happen, but there is no "momentary risk." He also said that the likelihood of an escalation around the country could be assessed as low.
