Russia - Antonov told on what conditions the President of Russia will continue the dialogue with the United States

Russia (bbabo.net), - Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will decide on the advisability of further dialogue with the United States after the written responses from Washington on security guarantees are studied.

"Now we are conducting an interdepartmental analysis of the documents submitted to us. Its results will be reported to Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, who will decide on the advisability of continuing the dialogue," Antonov said in an interview with Newsweek magazine.

He also noted that the responses of the US and NATO "are not very enthusiastic", as they suggest focusing on, although important, but secondary issues.

In addition, Antonov stressed, according to Moscow, NATO countries strengthen their own security by weakening Russia. He explained that it was for this reason that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov sent a letter to his American counterpart Anthony Blinken on January 28.

"In the letter, Russia insists on the faithful implementation of the agreement on the indivisibility of security. We want to receive confirmation of the obligations assumed by the United States earlier, otherwise, to honestly explain why the United States and its allies do not want to follow the decisions agreed upon by all of us," Antonov said.
