Russia - Autovolunteers of the Orenburg region help doctors fight covid

Russia (bbabo.net), - In the Orenburg and Arkhangelsk regions, a fleet of regional governments was handed over to doctors for delivery to patients. At the same time, there are still not enough cars - and volunteers come to help.

To serve COVID-19 patients in the face of an unprecedented increase in calls to doctors, Orenburg region government officials will hand over at least 80 official cars to doctors. The members of the Cabinet themselves will transfer to personal cars or taxis.

In Orenburg, the city administration has already allocated cars to help doctors, but there is still not enough transport. So, on Monday, part of the teams were forced to get to the patients on their own. The townspeople also responded to the call of the authorities - autovolunteers help to serve doctors.

As the head physician of the Orenburg city hospital named after. Pirogov Andrey Karpets, only on January 31, the call center of the clinic received 4600 calls, 2600 calls were processed and serviced. This is 10 times more than with a stable epidemic situation. One health worker handles up to 50 calls per day.

- Residents of Orenburg are actively calling and offering their help. With volunteers who want to help, we conclude an oral agreement, draw up an individual schedule for each. Many thanks to the residents of Orenburg for responding to the call and helping doctors, - Andrey Karpets emphasized.

The fleet of the government of the Arkhangelsk region has also been transferred to the disposal of doctors. Cars with license plates have already begun to be used to visit patients who are being treated for COVID-19 at home. Since February 1, more than 20 cars from the government garage have been working in polyclinics in the cities of the region.

The Arkhangelsk city polyclinic N1, for example, received five cars. According to the head physician Anastasia Fomina, the transport was provided to go to the patients' homes.

“The burden on doctors is enormous. We have identified cars for calls both to patients who have characteristic symptoms of acute respiratory infections, and to those who have already confirmed COVID-19 and who are receiving care at home.

At the same time, there are still not enough cars and doctors are asking for help from volunteers. Today, there are only 39 volunteers in the Arkhangelsk volunteer movement "Take a Doctor - Become a Volunteer", according to its organizers, additional forces are needed.
