Chechen Ibrahim, who risked everything to save a woman, shared the motives for his act

A young Chechen on trial for causing the death of a defenseless woman's killer gave an interview to the British Daily Mail newspaper and revealed the details of the tragic moments that made him a suspect in a serious crime.

Recall that in January, 41-year-old Englishman Leon McCaskey in the middle of the street attacked his 43-year-old ex-wife, Moroccan Yasmine Wafah Shkaifi, with a knife. A 26-year-old Muslim of Chechen origin, Ibragim, who was passing by, saw what was happening and directed his car at the attacker. Despite the young man's attempts to save the defenseless woman from an armed criminal, she died from her stab wounds. But McCaskey also died - injuries from a car collision turned out to be incompatible with life. The 26-year-old driver of the car was arrested and charged with murder.

“If you see evil, correct it with your hand. If you can't, then stop it with words. And I thought, how will I stand before the Lord if I don't help? This is my duty, my religion,” said Ibrahim, quoting the saying of the Prophet Muhammad.

According to Ibrahim, an electrician by profession, when he saw an attack on an unarmed woman, he stepped on the gas and sent the car to the criminal to neutralize him. The car hit the attacker, he fell, but when the guy took his foot off the gas pedal, the car did not stop immediately and managed to lift McCaskey under him. Due to a technical malfunction, Ibrahim was not able to immediately drive the car back, and the killer of the woman died under her wheels, reports bbabo.net with reference to ArabNews.

“I grabbed my head and thought, how could this happen? After all, I tried to save a woman's life and killed a man in the process. I said a prayer - Lord, forgive me for what I have done.

After the public outcry surrounding the case of the Chechen, law enforcement agencies in London dropped the charges against Ibragim and are now considering him as a witness in the case, and not a suspect in the murder.
