Russia - Soldiers of the Airborne Forces completed a ski run dedicated to the Vyazemsky operation

Russia (bbabo.net), - Airborne troops completed a ski crossing dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Vyazemskaya airborne operation of 1942. The paratroopers skied over the Moscow, Kaluga, Smolensk and Tver regions, more than 850 kilometers. They visited 16 cities, settlements and memorable places. Among them are four Cities of Military Glory, where fierce battles with the German invaders took place during the Great Patriotic War.

Honoring the participants of the ski crossing took place in the Museum and Temple Complex of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, near the walls of the Main Temple of the Armed Forces. The event was attended by Deputy Commander of the Airborne Forces Viktor Kupchishin, Deputy Denis Maidanov, famous skier Larisa Lazutina, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Airborne Forces Veterans, Lieutenant General Sergei Kudinov, Airborne Forces veteran, Hero of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Nikolai Ignatov

The servicemen received departmental awards, certificates of honor from the commander of the Airborne Forces Andrei Serdyukov. Thanks to all participants of the ski crossing.

The ski crossing started on January 27 in Ramenskoye near Moscow. It was attended by 80 paratroopers of the Tula Guards Airborne Forces and the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. Margelov. By ski crossing, the military personnel of the Airborne Forces paid tribute to the memory of the heroes of the Vyazemsky landing.
