Shoigu called on the West to stop stuffing Ukraine with weapons

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, at a meeting with British Defense Minister Ben Wallace, suggested that Western countries contribute to reducing tensions in the situation with Ukraine and stop “stuffing” it with weapons, RIA Novosti reports.

He stressed that the supply of weapons to Ukraine comes "from all sides", and this is done publicly and in a showy manner.

“It’s not entirely clear why. I would also like to understand why Britain, the kingdom, sent its special forces to Ukraine and how long it will stay there, ”Shoigu said.

Wallace arrived in Moscow for a meeting with Shoigu shortly after British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss's visit to Russia. According to the minister, the reason for her visit was the need to call on the Russian government to "withdraw troops" from the Ukrainian border.

Relations between Russia and the West have become more complicated due to the situation around Ukraine. The Western media actively disseminated reports of Russia's impending invasion of Ukraine, despite Moscow's assurances that there were no such "plans." In this regard, a number of countries, including the United States and Great Britain, sent military assistance to Kiev, and additional troops to neighboring states of Ukraine.
