The Japanese Foreign Ministry has raised the threat level for citizens in Ukraine to level 4. It is reported by TASS.

The fourth level of threat is the maximum. It involves a call to "immediately leave the territory" of Ukraine and to refuse any trips to the country.

Japan insists on the departure of citizens from Ukraine due to "the ongoing increase in tension on the Ukrainian-Russian border," the foreign ministry explained. They noted that it is not possible to predict the development of the situation "despite the ongoing diplomatic efforts" made to resolve the crisis.

Earlier, the representative of the European Commission, Peter Stano, said that there were no general plans for the evacuation of EU citizens from Ukraine.

Prior to this, US President Biden called on Americans to leave Ukraine "right now." He stressed that American troops would not be able to assist in the evacuation of citizens, because under no circumstances would they be on Ukrainian territory.
