Putin called relations with the CIS a priority direction of Russia's foreign policy

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, where, in particular, he discussed the country's relations with the CIS, TASS reports.

“One of the priorities of our foreign policy is relations with the CIS countries, in the post-Soviet space. Today we will discuss just this topic. Once again I want to emphasize that it is certainly one of the key ones for us,” the head of state said.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev drew attention to the fact that many labor migrants do not speak Russian well.

A day earlier, Medvedev was named head of a new Security Council interdepartmental commission on migration policy. It will analyze the migration situation in the country, identify internal and external threats to national security, prepare proposals and recommendations to the Security Council in the field of migration, and participate in the development and implementation of strategic planning.
