Dmitry Polyansky, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, said that the question of Russia's military-technical response to the West is still hypothetical. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“We are diplomats and must act in such a way that, figuratively speaking, the guns are silent, so we will use every opportunity to reach agreements, but without compromising our principled positions and going beyond the red lines,” Polyansky said.

According to him, if progress is not achieved in the dialogue on security guarantees, and it comes to the adoption of military-technical measures, then Russia has qualified specialists in this area.

Earlier, Polyansky spoke about the expectations from the US and NATO on security guarantees.

At the end of January, the US and NATO handed over to the Russian Federation their written responses to the security guarantees offered by Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the documents, noted that the United States and NATO "bypassed" the issues identified by the Russian capital, providing in response "political clichés" and proposals on secondary topics.
