Russia - Novosibirsk doctors will consult patients with COVID-19 remotely

Russia (bbabo.net), - A new format for working with infectious patients has been launched in the Novosibirsk Region: according to the order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the decision of the chief sanitary doctor of Russia, patients with asymptomatic or mild coronavirus infection can now be consulted remotely. It is also possible to remotely issue a certificate of incapacity for work and an extract from the sick leave after seven days of illness without a PCR test.

At the same time, the doctor will still come home to those who really need it, emphasize the regional Ministry of Health.

Elena Aksenova, Deputy Minister of Health of the region, noted that the principle of outpatient care has changed dramatically.

- If last week we invited patients to open or close sick-lists in separate rooms even with a mild course of the disease, then after the amendments to federal regulations, our registrars and operators restructured their work. Logistics has been changed, units have been allocated for remote work, the minister said during a visit to clinic No. 17 in Novosibirsk.

The Ministry of Health clarified that in the region, any appeal from patients with symptoms of SARS is accepted according to one standard - in all clinics and by calling the unified registry "122". A checklist has been developed for operators, which allows a preliminary assessment of the "severity" of the patient. The registrar notes the main parameters - the results of PCR testing, temperature, whether a sick leave was issued, whether the patient was examined earlier. All this is recorded in a single information system - it does not matter from which source the patient applied for medical help - by calling "122", in his personal account at "State Services", using the call center of the polyclinic.

The registrar uses a universal algorithm to sort patients based on their symptoms, age and medical history.

- House calls are issued to those who have a moderate disease, to the elderly, to small children. The rest can be transferred for remote monitoring even without an initial examination, the deputy minister explained.

In polyclinics, "red zones" are mandatory. First of all, for those who get sick easily, but still want to be examined by a doctor. PCR smears are also taken here. A doctor can also invite you to a face-to-face appointment after a remote consultation.

Elena Bashurova, chief physician of polyclinic No. 17, noted that the number of visits last week increased at least five times: if earlier they took about 100 smears per day, then last week - 650 smears per day. On Monday, 650 calls were recorded, usually 120-180.

Innovations, says Elena Bashurova, allow the polyclinic with the same human resources to manage much more, to work more efficiently.
