The administration of US President Joe Biden told senators that Iran is capable of producing enough material for a nuclear bomb in just two months. Politico reports.

The relevant information was announced during a closed briefing. According to the publication, one of the senators considered these data "sobering and shocking."

Negotiations in Vienna to restore the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran's nuclear program resumed on February 8. Russia, the United States, France, Great Britain, Germany, China and Iran concluded a nuclear deal in 2015, which involved the lifting of sanctions in exchange for limiting Tehran's nuclear program. In May 2018, then-U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew from the JCPOA and reinstated sanctions against Iran.

Now, the US administration has decided to restore the previously canceled exemptions from the sanctions against Iran's nuclear program.
