Analyst Raubo called intelligence the main task of American missile defense in Europe

American missile defense bases in Poland and Romania are needed not only for protection against missile strikes, but also for reconnaissance. This exact view was shared by Defence.24 analyst Jacek Raubo in an interview with the Polska Times.

He commented on the proposal of the Americans to allow Russian inspection of the American bases in Polish Redzikovo and Romanian Deveselu. Raubo believes that the deployment of high-tech weapons on NATO's eastern flank is the "worst case scenario" for Moscow.

“The components of the missile defense system are important in the context of the US intelligence potential in Europe,” the expert shared his vision of the situation.

In his opinion, tracking and data analysis systems are important, and not just the ability to intercept enemy missiles.

Washington invited Russia to discuss the possibility of inspecting NATO bases in Romania and Poland for cruise missiles. It is noted that this will become possible in the case of similar steps from Moscow.

We are talking about multi-purpose cruise missiles "Tomahawk". The United States is ready to make sure that these missiles are not deployed at NATO bases in Romania and Poland. According to the American side, in response to such a proposal, Russia should provide similar information about certain military bases on its territory.

Earlier, Romanian radio reported that the United States and Romania offered Russia to conduct mutual inspections for the deployment of ballistic missiles.
