The conversation between Putin and Johnson will take place on the evening of February 2

Assistant to the President of Russia for International Affairs Yuri Ushakov said that a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will take place on the evening of February 2. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“A telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Johnson is scheduled for this evening,” Ushakov said.

According to him, the parties will first of all discuss an intra-Ukrainian settlement, taking into account Johnson's visit to Kiev yesterday, and Moscow's proposals on security guarantees.

Some issues of bilateral cooperation will also be touched upon.

Initially, the conversation of politicians was to take place on January 31. Later it was assumed that it would be postponed to February 1. According to Johnson himself, he will call Putin "as soon as he finds the opportunity."

According to media reports, the conversation with the head of Russia was postponed due to Johnson's speech in Parliament - where he justified himself because of accusations of holding parties on Downing Street in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
