Russia (bbabo.net), - Seven brand new bicycles, four of which were made especially for children with cerebral palsy, were presented to special children in Ufa. Funds for their purchase were raised during a charity ultramarathon run by Gulnaz Sakulina. Despite the frost, the young woman covered 73 kilometers along the Ufa Necklace route.

32-year-old photographer, master of sports tourism Gulnaz Sakulina has long planned to take part in an ultramarathon around the capital of Bashkiria. But the final decision was made after she learned about the "Ufa Necklace", which united all districts of the city into a single circular walking route. Before Gulnaz, marathon runners have not yet started on this track, only cyclists - it is too long and difficult.

- Everything happened by chance: I was told about the new route, and then I had a conversation with the director of the "Breaking Barriers" center, during which the idea came up to raise money to buy bicycles for children with cerebral palsy. Not ordinary ones, of course, but special ones so that they can ride them like everyone else. These are made in the Republic of Khakassia. They are very expensive, and the parents of special children count every penny, it is difficult for them to overpower cycling, although it can help in rehabilitation. For me, this is especially symbolic: once a bicycle opened the world to me, - recalls Gulnaz.

Most of all, the young woman was touched when parents and two children came to the embankment, where the start of the ultramarathon was scheduled, in the early morning. It was for them that they planned to raise money. Their words of encouragement helped Gulnaz get ready for the upcoming race, which lasted seven hours and 39 minutes. The athlete did not strive for records, however, taking into account traffic lights, she ran an average of one kilometer in 6 minutes 15 seconds. At the same time, she managed to shoot her route on her phone camera and broadcast on Instagram, drawing attention to fundraising. That is, while Gulnaz was running, caring people sent money to the specified account.

- There is nothing supernatural in the ultramarathon, in the cold only the legs "harden". Everyone, if desired, can run with the right physical preparation. You need to develop your musculoskeletal system, and over time everything will work out, - Gulnaz believes.

By the way, the parents of the children for whom the fundraiser was going on are already interested in running and want to try their hand at this sport.

- We were just happy that everything worked out! And how happy the children were! They immediately got on their bikes and refused to dismount. Gulnaz promised us to organize a bike ride in Ufa in the spring, - parents share.

Alina Khabirova, a member of the public chamber of Bashkiria, director of the Breaking Barriers Center, noted that during the charity run it was planned to collect 108 thousand rubles, but in the end it received twice as much.

- Donations were made by 214 caring people and Zhilstroyinvest LLC. This is an excellent example when the efforts of society, business and government are united in solving social problems of children with disabilities, - the social activist emphasized.

The "Ufa Necklace" is a circular route that runs along the entire Ufa Peninsula and connects eight intra-regional routes (beads). Part of the path passes through the forest, the asphalt road is replaced by a dirt road and even a pavement. The total length is over 70 kilometers. The route was developed as part of a project of the same name with the support of the Local Activity Center.
