By 2024, the Russian Armed Forces will purchase over 3,000 Udav self-loading pistols, designed to replace the main Makarov combat pistol in units, RIA Novosti reports, citing a source in the military-industrial complex.

“It is expected that in the remaining three years of the current SAP, the state customer will purchase more than three thousand Udav pistol systems in modifications for the troops (6P72) and special forces (6P72-1). The main shipments will take place as early as 2022,” the message says.

It is assumed that the total amount of the contract will be about 300 million rubles - in addition to the pistols themselves, the weapons will come with spare parts, as well as accessories, such as laser designators, silencers and lights.

Serial production of Udav pistols began in Russia in 2020.

It is noted that Russian servicemen have already tested the 9-millimeter pistol and made recommendations for finalizing the rifle complex, which were fully implemented.
