Trump believes that the US authorities have lost Putin's respect because of Biden

Former US President Donald Trump believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin is capitalizing on weakness, and under current US leader Joe Biden, Washington has lost his respect. The politician stated this in an interview with Newsmax.

“We have to project power. He [Putin] has no respect for our leadership. He no longer respects our country,” Trump said.

According to him, a year ago the Russian leader respected the United States and its leader. Trump also said that Russia "seems to take a step against Ukraine", but under him such a development of events "would be unthinkable."

Jeremy Carle, a senior fellow at the conservative think tank Claremont Institute, wrote in an op-ed for Newsweek that nothing harms America's credibility more than promises by the country's authorities to protect those countries that Washington does not seek to protect. He recounted a World War II saying that George Shultz, former U.S. Secretary of State under President Ronald Reagan, liked to tell him: "Never aim a gun at someone unless you're going to pull the trigger."

The ex-president of the United States hopes that the Republicans will receive a majority in the House of Representatives and in the Senate after the midterm elections, which will be held on November 8, 2022. He criticized the policies of the current leader of the United States, Joe Biden, accusing him of corruption, weakness and incompetence. Trump is also confident that by his actions, the incumbent president has created a real risk of starting World War III. Read more in the material.
