Belarusians told what forms their national dignity

Events in and around Belarus contribute to the formation of a sense of national dignity among citizens. This was stated by Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Economics of the Brest State University named after A.S. Pushkin Boris Lepeshko, commenting on Alexander Lukashenko's message to the National Assembly. His words are quoted by the agency "Belta".

“The president demonstrates a breadth of views, a fairly broad understanding of ideas and realities. He talks about Belarus in the context of world development, and he is talking about world hunger, world migration, a clash of interests. And he talks about Belarusian problems. And it is no coincidence that the context has changed. And the question is posed in the sense that we, the citizens, need to get rid of the parochialism ourselves by forming a sense of national dignity, ”Lepeshko said.

The professor also believes that the national independence of Belarusians consists of “their own” management structures, the elite, university professors and people “who form the national culture, and the most diverse one at that.”

The Prosecutor General's Office of Belarus previously reported that after the incident with the flag, it opened a case against the head of the Ukrainian city of Dnepr, Boris Filatov. The department noted that Filatov, who, being an official, organized the removal of the Belarusian flag and replacing it with a two-color flag, was charged with inciting ethnic hatred.
