Tatarstan entered the top 5 in terms of quality of life in Russia

Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - The Republic of Tatarstan took fourth place in the tenth ranking of Russian regions in terms of quality of life in 2021. The region was on the same line a year earlier, IA Tatar-inform reports.

In the top five in 2021, only one region changed: the Krasnodar Territory moved to the fifth position from the sixth, displacing the Belgorod Region. The rest of the four remained unchanged: Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Moscow Region and Tatarstan.

It is noteworthy that in comparison with 2020, the quality of life in the three most prosperous regions of Russia has deteriorated. But in the Republic of Tatarstan, the standard of living has risen, despite the pandemic.

“The tenth rating of Russian regions in terms of quality of life, prepared by RIA Novosti experts, was based on a comprehensive accounting of 67 indicators that assess the actual state of certain aspects of living conditions and the situation in the social sphere. On their basis, a rating score was calculated, which acts as an assessment of interregional differences and a criterion for ranking regions,” the authors of the study explained.

Outsiders of the rating were Kalmykia, Ingushetia, Kurgan region, Republics of Altai and Buryatia, Jewish Autonomous Region, Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Trans-Baikal Territory and the Republic of Tyva.
