Scholz threatened Russia with serious consequences because of Ukraine

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz threatened Russia with "serious consequences" over Ukraine. This was reported on the website of the German leader.

On February 14, Scholz will visit Kiev, where he will hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. On February 15, the chancellor will travel to Moscow for a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

The politician said that during the meeting with the Kiev authorities, it is important for him to express the continued solidarity and support from the FRG to Ukraine.

“We are urgently awaiting de-escalation signals from Moscow. Further military aggression will have very serious consequences for Russia. In this I absolutely agree with our allies. We are seeing a very, very serious threat to peace in Europe,” Scholz stressed.

Since the fall of last year, the Western media, as well as in Ukraine, have been claiming that Russia is allegedly preparing a “large-scale invasion” of Ukraine. In Moscow, such allegations have been repeatedly rejected.

Earlier, Reuters reported that Scholz plans to say during talks with Putin that the buildup of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine can only be seen as a threat.
