An evening in memory of the Tatar public and political figure Muhammad Minachev was held in Moscow

Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - An evening was held in Moscow in memory of a public and political figure, a fighter for the rights of the Tatar people Muhammad Minachev, who passed away on February 11, 2018.

His relatives, friends, associates, like-minded people gathered in the Idel restaurant.

Until his last days, Minachev took an active life position and participated in the activities of the Tatar community of the city of Moscow to protect the language.

The evening was opened with the reading of the Koran by the Imam of the Historical Mosque of Moscow, Ramil Sadykov, with the reading of the Holy Koran by Ramil Hazrat.

At the meeting, words were spoken about the significance and enormous contribution of Minachev to the development of the Tatar population of Moscow in the field of language, education, and national and cultural identity.

Muhammad Minachev was born on March 20, 1938 in the village of Yandauchcha (Endovishche) of the Krasnoktyabrsky district of the Gorky region in a large Tatar family.

In 1979-1982, he organized and led the Tatar amateur performances in the Mayak cultural center in Moscow.

In 1985-86 held literary and musical evenings in Moscow dedicated to the 100th anniversary of G. Tukay, the life and work of F. Amirkhan, M. Galyau and the 100th anniversary of the first Tatar novel "Khisametdin Menla" by Musa Akyeget. In 1987 he organized the first post-war Sabantuy in Moscow. On July 7, 1988, he created with like-minded people a Tatar public organization - the Club of Tatar Culture Lovers "Tugan Tel", later renamed the "Tatar Culture Society", was elected chairman of these organizations.

In 1988, he obtained permission from the Soviet authorities to open Tatar language electives in general education schools and kindergartens in Moscow. Together with Damir Gizzatulin and Valiakhmat Sadur, he did a lot of work to involve children and parents in teaching their native Tatar language. In the same year, he participated in the organization of retraining courses for teachers of the Tatar language in the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

From 1989 to 1994 he published and edited the Vatan Information Leaflet, and later the newspaper with the same name. Due to financial difficulties, the newspaper had to be closed.

An initiative group of his fellow villagers and like-minded people made a proposal to name the secondary school in the village of Endovishche after Minachev Muhammad, who made a great contribution to the education there for ten years instead of eight.
