Ukraine denies entry ban for Russians

Andriy Demchenko, a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said that no order was issued banning Russian citizens from entering, the Telegraph newspaper reports.

“Don't be fooled by rumors. There is Ukrainian legislation regulating the crossing of the state border, and the border guards strictly observe it,” Demchenko said.

Earlier, Strana.ua, citing social networks, reported that the Russians were denied entry to the territory of Ukraine.

It is reported that when denied entry, Ukrainian border guards refer to the order of their superiors, which was received on February 12 at about 13:00. It is clarified that only those who have a certificate of death of a close relative are allowed in.

However, there is still no official information about the introduction of a complete ban on entry into Ukraine for Russians - however, in 2021, cases of denied entry doubled compared to previous years.

Later this information was confirmed in the Verkhovna Rada.
