Ukrainian opposition calls on Zelensky to resign

The Opposition Platform – For Life (OPPL) parliamentary party has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to resign due to non-compliance with the Minsk agreements. The appeal was published on the party's website.

The Opposition Platform for Life reminded that ensuring peace was the key pre-election promise of the current government.

“But, like the previous Poroshenko regime, the current government prefers talking about “red lines” to making political and legislative decisions. Negotiations in any format are emasculated, reduced to endless talking, and the agreements reached are not being implemented,” the appeal says.

At the same time, it is emphasized that Ukraine “pays a terrible price” for “irresponsibility and lack of will of the Ukrainian authorities”: the number of human casualties is growing, the economy is depleted, citizens are leaving the country.

“Ze-government undertook to return peace to Ukraine. She did not do this and should resign, ”the Opposition Platform for Life concludes.

Earlier, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yevgeny Muraev said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “set up” his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron by not giving public guarantees that Kiev would not start hostilities in the Donbass.

Negotiations between the President of Ukraine and France were held on February 8. Macron, after meeting with Zelensky, said that Paris aims to achieve stabilization of the situation around Ukraine "in the coming weeks."

On February 7, the French leader met in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Following the results of the meetings, Macron said that he received assurances from Russia and Ukraine of the commitment of both states to the so-called Minsk agreements. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised not to provoke an escalation of the situation in Ukraine. Macron also stressed that negotiations with the heads of the two countries made it possible to achieve progress in ensuring security in the region.
